Lessay Fair – a 1,000 years of tradition

Lessay Fair circa. 1900Imagine an agricultural fair that has existed since the time of William the Conqueror’s invasion of Britain, and continues to this day.

That’s around 500 years before the Pilgrim Fathers arrived in North America!

Horses remain at the heart of Lessay’s Sainte-Croix Fair, but over the centuries it has developed to include everything agricultural and country life, ranging from the latest farm machinery to the very best in local produce and traditional cuisine – often direct from the spit-roast.

Alongside prize livestock of every description, you’ll discover a wide variety of rural demonstrations & events, together with a huge funfair to light up the evenings.

It’s only a pleasant half-hour drive from La Ducrie, so if you’d like to visit this remarkable event (it takes place on 11th, 12th & 13th September in 2020), and sleep it off in style, we strongly recommend early booking.

It’s a chance in a thousand!
